Adjiringanor

Adjiringanor was originally a small farming community located on the outskirts of Accra. In the early 1960s, the Ghanaian government acquired land from the local farmers to develop the area into a residential neighborhood. The area was renamed "Adjiringanor" which comes from the Ga language, which is spoken by the indigenous people of the Accra region. The name roughly translates to "the place where the ladder touches the ground". This is said to be a reference to the neighborhood's shape, which is said to resemble a round crab.

Another intriguing feature of Adjiringanor is the presence of Tesa Dam, a small local dam constructed by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
