Down past Takoradi in the Western region of Western Ghana we pass through Agona Nkwanta and Dix Cove from where we proceed via the Old Town Road; Just about one kilometer and a half before the old fishing village of Akwidaa is the Akwidaa Inn, frontal to the Atlantic Ocean and brushed by sea breezes.
The lodge is a rustic presentation of traditional African lodge accommodation. Each of the eight rooms situated there contain simple clean bedding / mosquito nets and electric fans / with en-suite bathrooms. The view from the doorways is the Atlantic Ocean and a green vibrant tropical garden luxuriating in the West African sun.
The rooms are cement-rendered, mud-walled and thatched dwellings having colourful interior decors. Akwidaa Inn is a place to benefit from complete retreat from the rigours of Western societal life. This sentiment has been most often expressed by reviews appearing regularly on booking.com and other digital media presentations.
Along with this is the claim by travelers that our beach-front is the cleanest in Ghana.
The lodge, which inception occurred in 2011, has been operating as an accommodation facility for some 10 years after construction. It is an important aspect of daily life for a few locals who have been employed there much of this time.
As the owner/ Director, I am interested to find a purchaser for the lodge and/or an agent who will set about marketing it internationally.
